Rayat Shikshan Sanstha’s, Arts and Commerce College Madha, was established in Jun, 1970. It is located in Madha Tehsil of Solapur District, Maharashtra. Madha is drought prone rural place famous for the Madheshwari and Vitthal temple, ancient fort, and river Mankarna. The generous people of Madha, donated the land for college building and boys hostel. The college started with a well-defined motive of ‘Empowering Rural Youth with Quality Education’ and serving the society by making their humble contribution to education especially for down-trodden and rural mass of the society. The college provides quality higher education in Arts and Commerce streams at graduate and research level. The college is spear heading a slow but steady transformation in education with 02 UG, 02 Ph.D. programmes, 01 UGC funded Career Oriented Certificate Course, 24 add on, value added and skill oriented courses. Our college has 02 University recognized research centers and has 03 recognized research guides. Currently 08 students are pursuing their Ph.D. degree and in last five years-doctoral degrees were awarded. During the academic year 2017-18, a total of 515 students were admitted in the college. The institution is approved with 12B and 2F by UGC, New Delhi and affiliated to Punyaslok Ahilyadevi Holkar Solapur University, Solapur. Its co-educational institute in nature at present and it has intake capacity of 720 seats. The institution follows all the norms and decisions of the regulatory bodies-UGC, Government of Maharashtra, and Punyaslok Ahilyadevi Holkar Solapur University. The institution has an adequate infrastructure including ICT enabled classrooms, library, and staff room, common room for girls and boys, Women’s hostel, indoor and outdoor games facility, canteen, RO drinking water, Two wheeler and Four wheeler parking facility, Uninterrupted Power Supply, internet broadband leased line connection with 100 mbps, Wi-Fi, fax, photocopier, phone reading room etc.

The members of management committee are well educated, socially responsible and humble human being strongly determined and dedicated to the cause of social welfare through providing quality education. The faculty members are well qualified, experienced, enthusiastic and sincere towards their profession, always ready to learn. Teacher educators themselves use and encourage the students to use ICT in their classroom teaching to meet the emerging needs and problems of college education in global context. The value oriented practices enables the students and teachers to make harmony among different sections of the society. The institution encourages and sponsors the teachers as well as students for participation in professional development programs, seminars, workshops, conferences, at inter-college and intra-college competitions of academic and co-curricular activities respectively. Based on our performance in promotion of healthy practices within college and among its stakeholders the college takes pride for being awarded with. Additionally, our college has received noteworthy appreciations from farmers, government organizations and non-government organizations in the jurisdiction of Madha. Our college is surging ahead in the right direction under the stewardship and collective wisdom of learned and able Management. They have taken efforts to fulfill short term as well as long term goals through promoting courses and research in English and Commerce and Management, establishing advanced infrastructure and appointing acclaimed academicians. Emergence of NAAC accreditation has proved as a land mark step in Indian higher education system. NAAC pre-condition of functional IQAC at HEIs has made visible transformation through steps leading to quality sustenance and enhancement. In fact, NAAC role in assessment and accreditation of colleges served in realization of institutional vision, mission, goals and objectives. The recommendations made by NAAC Peer Team acted as guidelines for marching ahead to provide an all-inclusive atmosphere for holistic education that not only focuses on employability but also strives to uphold Knowledge, Character, Service, Management and Love.
